ok so the battery in my xj is shot
if i leave the doors open for 20-30 min, its dead
it seems like a popular choice is optima
but i was curiouse as to what else is out there
what do you guys recomend?
and what makes optima such a desirable battery?
thanks for your input

The best part about any AGM battery is the "physical" abuse they can handle!

Optima has its acid absorbed in fiberglass matting to make it a spill proof design. The same matting has the feature of helping to secure the plates in place making them more vibration resistant. This being said, I run an Autocraft Titanium from Advance Auto in my jeep, car, farm trucks, and tractors. going on 7 years for the one in my 50hp Kubota with one recharge and no failures. Jeeps in almost 4 years old and has never failed to start. 3 yr free replacement and 84 mos prorating.... My $0.02

I recommend Odyssey for sure after seeing one in use. Actually it was a Sears Die Hard Platinum but they are the same as Odyssey, made by the same company, and have identical specs. At Sears they cost less and have a better warranty so its a good deal plus it puts them at less money than a Optima. Do a search on the web and you will find a lot of people who prefer Odyssey over Optima plus a lot more problems with Optima then Odyssey.

Here is the batteries I am talking about
