The should work without any issue, the hole pattern is the same between early and late years.

The brackets and the Cherokee frames are the same from 1984-2001. The welded on bumper brackets fit either 1984-1996 OR 1997-2001. You can grind of the bumper brackets or drill another hole in your stock bumper.

If you use the original hooks, you'll also probably have to shave out a little of the plastic skirt under the bumper to allow anything to hook onto them, but that's no big deal either.
