Went and picked up my Lexan sheet so that I can start in on my windshield.

Sold the 31s today. Getting hooked up with 35s Wednesday. Gonna be a dog with 4.10s but I think I'll live... Anyone have thoughts on the necessity of front stiffeners on 35s? Only strengthening on the front is a hitch and track bar brace.

Got a new battery charger to keep my XJ battery charged since I hardly ever drive it. Hopefully it is a winner.

Lexan quarter panel windows are in. The Lexan windshield is cut, but not installed. New RE 1463 rear leaf packs are ordered.

She's almost ready to get back on the road...well, trail. She'll never see the road again.

Be prepared to replace that windshield every year two at the most. My first one went 3 years and It was terrible by the third....

Decided to do something nice for the XJ today.

Found a very nice WJ steering wheel out of an Overland Edition. I figured for $11, what the hell.

I had no idea that a WJ steering wheel would fit a Cherokee. I guess it's only the 1997 and later columns?

I'm not surprised I had a guy wanting the wj steering wheel off the wj I have and the controls. He was going to adapt it to his xj.

I don't know what the spindle on the 96 and down XJ's look like, but yes, they used the same spindle for the 97-01 XJ and the 99-04 WJ. I assume this would fit some TJs also.

Incidentally, I didn't hook up the controls, and the junkyard required me to pull the airbag out before I bought it.

I bought it not knowing it if would fit. I figured if it didn't it would end up as wall art.

The Jeep is back ready for the trail again. In the last month and a half I've:

- Put on new rear leaf packs
- Put all new shocks on
- New rear pads and rotors
- Put in a windshield and side windows
- Put in an upgraded Overland WJ steering wheel

Badass, Dirk! Let's go wheeling some weekend soon! My beater 2 door is begging to spend some time in the woods...

I'd be good with that. I think Wooly's is open, but don't think Turkey Bay is yet.

I hear Golden Mountain is going to be reopening. There is also a FaceBook page for a Coalmont ORV Park.

Yes I saw that too. However I also saw Southern Four Wheel Drive was associated/helping with it so my hopes are not too great.....

Corona Crawl 2020 UPDATE

Sorry for the late notice. In case you haven’t noticed, things have been a little different in 2020. We haven’t been able to make a call on whether or not to have the Crawl until now.

I can’t fathom seeing this silly bug prevent the Crawl from happening so I’m not going to say the Crawl is canceled, but I will say it’s going to be significantly different than normal.

There will be NO registration fees.

There will be NO organized catered meal.

There will be NO NAXJA organized trail rides.

I’m up in the air on the raffle. We haven’t been able to source a single raffle prize since businesses aren’t really in the giving mood this year, for good reason. If there are any raffle prizes, it will be whatever National can send us. So, don’t count on a raffle either.

I can POSSIBLY arrange t-shirts and stickers. If I can pull that off, I’ll be posting up about it. You’ll be ordering and paying for the shirt and sticker on the spot. I’ll deliver it to the ‘Rona Crawl.

That being said, anyone that wants to go wheeling with your NAXJA buddies, I suggest you show up in Harlan Kentucky on the week of July 4th like nothing is any different!

I’ll see you there.
