My jeep build with photos over the last few years.

Anak
Im getting the itch. Working today thinking if I get done ill check fluuds in my jeep and start getting ready. Trails will be fun. Coming from mtn home i have to pack fuel. Think the trails are closer to you than me
Silver city is I the same area but we may be snowed out of there

I can't swing today. Varmint #1 has some school stuff going on.

I will send you a PM. See if we can't plan something farther out.

Ended up going out for a couple hours near home

I rode shotgun i like this quick loop when it gets sloppy its not quute there yet.

Then drug a bucket inside

After riding shotgun im back to thinking in the bump stop direction. With a 4" bump id be bumping nearly all my up travel.

Or 4" coils

Today. Finished yanking axles out of my mockup rig. Then I wanted it off the ground for future mockup up.

My stands survived dragging it around

Here's the vid. Been 5months since I layed it on its side to pull transmission.

Yanked off uneeded lower portions of front fenders is now ready for bumper mock up.

Maybe rcp will let me borrow his plasma cutter.

So ive layed down some burns anyone would be proud of and some not so much.
Long runs are hard. Damn good practice running long.
Im thinking on my next run its 14" last one was 10 I had 1 bobble

Ran slightly down hill after dropping .5volts and wire speed slightly. Picture won't upload grrrr.

Would be cool to have someone like rcp to get pointers from. Long runs take it out of me. Burn faster faster fast shit fffff grrrrr

I always like practicing long runs but did doing this warp the bumper? Looks like you got it burned in good! just a newb learning here haha.

Looks nice from the above pic though

Here's the pics. Im sure it warped but I don't think its critical.
I cut the bender tabs and tried to clean up the burn through from the other side. Fully welded inside and out.
It's 3/16" plate not sure im crazy about that but I guess its going to work

The last one is the freeway this morning

Test fit.

This sticks out about 1.5" farther then what I built on my jeep my winch is on the extreme top instead of the bottom like this one.
For all but the most extreme angles this one doesn't do to bad for approach angle.
Also surprised at the fitment. This is the 148$ ebay kit.

I did no mock up on the jeep only checked mounting width before burning winch box up.

Thanks .
My goal was to burn and not touch it with a grinder :( . I still can't get over the price. I might order the rear version but I'm not sure if its a cut n fold bumper or not.

This bumper is cheap enough a person could order them just for practice material to weld on. Then have a bumper at the end instead of just trash.

Been awhile since mines been in for work.

Decided I want to plant the front end alittle better. Made a upper arm bracket to raise it total of 1.75" in the upper hole and lower raises about .5" over where it is now.

This will give me an adjustment range of 7.5' 8.75 and 10 of axle seperation . Plan to run in the 8.75 spot. They lower arms have two positions thats how I get the 10". Ill save that for when if I go bigger than 33" tires.

This bracket at full stuff just barely clears frame and oil pan actually fits just between them. Going from 2 5/8 to 2" wide bracket to help this tight clearance and down to 1/4" whats in there now is 3/8" tabs at 2 5/8 inside width.

Picked up 40' of 6x1/4 plate so ive got material to play with

Can't decide if I make my own frame stiffners or just buy some then finish my frame side control arm brackets.

I thought I had a spare 7/8 heim with 2" wide misalignment but offcourse i can't find it so I'll have to order one before I hack the current off the truss.

Xj did well running with similar and bigger tired rigs today. Drug everything in the rocks but not a single mark on the tcasecskid.
Lower frame side arm brackets starting to look rough but haven't yet hung me up.

Was a good time cool to see different rigs go over the same lines

What length brake lines you running with your 12" shocks?

My 25" lines seem to turn into guitar strings when 8 flex the front LOL

My current shocks are only 9" . Never measured lines. Sposed be for 6" lift. They seem to be long enough even with shocks removed cycling suspension.

Got one side actually finished tonight. Didn't turn out super pretty but should be glued together alright.

Figure i better finish frame side mounts before I lose one.

8 3/4" seperation adjustment to 10"

Looks like I can lower shock uppers 1.5"

I got in a rush the first time. Would have been much easier at the get go to do upper bracket like this.

Ok so she's more stable brake dive is notably less. Even hits bump stops less.

I just got back from my tunning run. Its a chopped up kinda rough couple mile run. It hit bump stops harshly a few times.

I did double up coil isolator for about .5" of lift. Lowred upper shock mount 1.5" to use all the shock at extension.

Castor is kinda tight ill have to back it off alittle its roughly 7ish.

I hit this same run each time I change something. Im going 20-25 this was not possible with short arms to comfortably go that fast. Though acasiinly im hitting bump stops pretty harsh.

I don't know whats next if I can keep from going fast the suspension works amazing the faster I go the faster I want to go and the more I want to tune. Air bumps or shocks.

It does ride and handle pretty precise feels more precise with more seperation,

https://youtu.be/Q_93EssAz2w

In the 3rd pick you can see bump stop squished and shock 1.5" from bottoming. Its now 1/4-1/2" from bottoming .

I can probably fit a 10" shock not that I need it. but if I buy shocks im going longer. Probly 12.
With a 12" shock at this ride height ill have 8" of droop compared to the current 5.

The coolest thing with that is i can remove coils with out unbolting shock.

Im thinking about rock krawler triple rate coils 4.5" probly be 2-3" ish on my set up.

Im blabbing.
