i had my 31x10.5x15's on stock steel rims and never had a problem with rubbing. now i have them on stock aluminum rims and they rub at full lock. do these rims have different backspacing?

BS is the same for 7X15 wheels whether they are aluminum or steel. 5.25"
If you went to an 8" wheel, the BS will be 5.5"

I measured my 15x7J(stamped on the inside)stock aluminum 5-stars to be 8" wide. I didn't measure the BS, but it's supposedly 5.25".

i figured they would be the same just cant figure out why they started rubbing with the aluminum ones and not the steel.

Where is the rubbing. Something I noticed with the aluminum is that the bead lip is wider than the steel. Is the bead lip on the rim rubbing the swaybar bracket? I had to bend my swaybar bracket in just a little to keep the edge of the aluminum wheel from rubbing it.
