well, it runs, and seems to be ok

temp gauge IMO still reads lower that it should, but tried a new sender and gauge, same results

now i have a wicked high idle 2000 rpm, until i unplug the TPS, then it drops back to normal

timing advance seems to be unadjustable, even turning the distributor, 5* at 700 rpm 13-15* at 2000

TPS is exactly 83% of input voltage at closed throttle

well, i cleaned it, i also disconnect it, and it doesnt change anything

i still wanna know why it stops when i disconnect the TPS

Its a little late, i haven't had the jeep for years,
in the end the RENIX wiring is the exact same color as the HO T.P.S.,
except they're backwards.
I don't remember the colors but it was something like purple, black, and orange on both but it
needed to be wired purple to orange, black to black, orange to purple.

Thanks for the response to the P.M. hopefully this will help future searchers.

I was also told I could use an automatic T.P.S. even though I have a Manual trans.
Any truth to this? Anyone?
This could save a fair amount of money as the manual T.P.S. is more expensive.
My NAPA would have to order (manual, RENIX) directly from manufacturer.
