If my 1998 is un-molested, would it have cast or composite rotors ?
My right side unit bearing crapped the bed and I need to order a set.

Nope, you always have to look and/or measure. There is no way to tell what a previous owner or repair shop has installed.

One of the guys in my local Jeep club found a cast dimension rotor and hub on one side, and composite rotor and hub on the other.

Go to the NAXJA FAQ's and read this one >>> Brake rotor/hub differences through the years on the second page.

Cast rotors machine easier during resurfacing. Bearing wise there isn't a durability difference.

No difference in hub durability, and I always buy new rotors for a brake job.

In the olden days, rotors had enough thickness to be resurfaced, but to save weight/cost they are usually made closer to the minimum specification and often don't measure after resurfacing.
