I'm new to this website & after browsing the forums, it's very impressive to see the responses given here. Great group.
Question. 1997 4.0 L. Fresh tune up, getting 19-20 mpg with 3.55 gears and a AW4. Bone stock. On a hot start after sitting for 5-10 minutes, on acceleration it gets a lag for maybe 2 seconds. Comes right out of it & runs fine, has never died. No classic symptoms of a weak fuel pump, no long crank times etc. Suggestions appreciated & thanks in advance.
As I read further, page 100 something, there is a post about this same concern. No fixes there. I suspect superheating of the intake from the exhaust manifold & it just takes a bit to cool down.
