i have a full traction long arm lift and the big damn bump stop hit the rear shock. ever seen this happen? now my jeep rides like crap cause the shock can only compress 2 inches.

I dont see how it was FT that caused the shock to be dented. Making sure everything is clearenced before wheeling or driving ones rig is something that needs to be done first. Id give FT a call, see what they say, and go from there. Looks like you need 1 shock, and then clearence the bumpstop mount.

that's a crazy bumpstop plate....you should get the ones from DPG Offroad....

Are they monotube shocks? How dented are they? If they're twin tube shocks they'll still work with a slightly dented exterior. Either way, do as recommended above and fix the problem before it gets worse in the future.

the dent is about the size of a quarther and 1/4 inch deep. its a low priced skyjacker shock. the piston stops at the dent and dont allow the shock to compress. it kinda sucks that i dented the shock but the jeep flexes like crazy!!!!:guitar:

Cut that corner off the bumpstop plate, buy a new shock and be done with it.

i did more then dent it. just took it off. spoke to full traction today and they said i might have a shock thats to big but when i got it off and measured it was the same size as the ones they sell with the kit. http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/jmr1409/?action=view&current=jeep010.jpg[IMG]

happened to me as well.... just grind off the corner. Did you install any axle shims in there when you put it on?

yep thats your fault, get a new shock as those are like 30 bucks and get the angle grinder out

If you used shims, that's why they hit your shocks. They (full traction) wouldn't have used shims and wouldn't have run into axle tilt issues that you would when you install shims.

i dont have any damn shims. an the shock is the same size as the one they run on the full traction jeep. the tech guy from there has and 88 with the same lift and he has never had it happen either. just think that maybe they should round off the plate on the new kit they make.
