I am gearing up to replace the brake components on all 4 wheels. Rotors, pads, drums, shoes, cylinders. Anything else? Is Napa or AutoZone OK for sourcing? What type of brake fluid (DOT3?).

I would appreciate any tips if there is anything non-standard to watch out for. This is my first foray into the XJs brake system. I've found a few threads indicating this should run about $200 for the parts?

Napa > Vatozone

would be a good idea to replace the rear brake hardware and possibly even the adjuster cables if the truck is in a rust area.

Remember to grease the adjuster threads.

have contingency on hand in case you break a line to the wheel cylinder.

Id order everything from RockAuto.com. You will save alot of the brick and mortar stores. I always go with Raybestos Pro Grade Brake parts.
