40k miles of pushing 33s seems to have finally taken its toll on my steering box. I was chasing down a creaking noise in the front, and figured out the box was making the noise. The output shaft (where the pitman attaches) has about 1/8" of play in it when turning the wheel at a stop, making a creaking noise until the shaft engages enough to turn the pitman. I am running a Waggy pitman with my OTK setup, so I imagine the extra leverage finally killed it.
Is this something that can be resolved with a rebuild, or would it be more worthwhile to swap boxes out with a Durango box or PSC?
