YJ rear brake line won't work on XJ

I'm replacing the 8.25 under my 98 xj so i wanted to redo the replacement ( rockcrusher cover, new brakes, brake lines ect... and the YJ line i was given at autozone will not work on my 8.25 axle. I got the brake line for an 89 wrangler, what year do i actually need to work ? The vent is bigger on the 8.25 and the block is larger on the 8.25 brake hose as well.

I used a 94 YJ hose, it is working fine, on my 96 XJ. Same block just longer.

The same hose is used on an 88-92 MJ and on the 90-95 YJ according to http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductGuide.aspx?mfrcode=DOR&mfrpartnumber=H38845

I used a 98 Dodge Ram brake line. Same size vent block thing, has worked perfectly.

I went with a '94 YJ hose and it works fine,.

I used a 94 YJ brake hose on my 98 with the 8.25 and it fit fine.

Yeah, I've got a dakota centerline on my 8.25 and it works great.

I've got part # BH2151960 from O'Reilly's and a quick google search yields it's the same part number for 1994 YJ and 1990 MJ. I'm about to install it on my 2001 XJ with 8.25. And after that, replace the hard line to the rear junction. Not coll that it completely disintegrated when trying to pull just the soft line...
