Rear quarter panel rust

i have a 99 with cancer forming under both right and left rear bumber caps towards the bottom i know people chop this out for biger tires
i want to chop the rust out so it doesnt grow anymore any one have pics of how far they cut up on the fender and what it looks like?? or ideas

i dont have pics yet but its prolly not as bad as most maybe 3 inch circle on passenger side, and just along bottom pinch weld to 1 inch up on drivers side . =/ nothin to big
