Brush guard mounting ??

Sorry for the question,but searching didn't really net me anything helpful.Ibought a grill guard from a local salvage yard off a 95 xj (dirt cheap),the issue is I have a 2000 xj classic w/factory lower valance holding fog lights and tow hooks.He said it would fit 84-01 xj's but I thought 97-01 were differant mounting points (I could be wrong)i held it up and it looks close so tomorrow I am taking the lower valance off to check,but isthere anything I should keep an eye out for problem wise.
I thought I will have to cut holes in the valance,and maybe fab some L brackets for mounting,but any heads up will be helpful.

I think you're right on with the thinking that you'll have to make some "L" brackets. I recently chopped one off a 2000 XJ and it had something like that but didn't cut through the valance. Good luck!

i welded mine directly to the bumper so i could get more clearence and it is strong bashed it against a huge rock and everything
