waggy 44...tire play

hey everybody

my waggy 44 is nearly new as far as all internal parts go, but the other day when installing my hydro assist i noticed one tire has already got considerable play in it. the ball joints didn't look to be the cause, so im assuming its the wheel bearings.

just wanted to get a second opinion before i tear it apart to replace them

No need to replace, just tighten them up a bit. It's one of the upsides of servicable and adjustable bearings.

so what it looks like is ive just got to tighten down the spindle nut?

if thats supposed to be at a certain torque, how can i go cranking down on it to tighten up the bearing, but not over torque...seems like you get 1 or the other, but not both

I think I read that it's 50 lb-ft and then back off 1/4 turn.
