Breaking inner tire bead?

Ba-Riedo

I need to remove the tire from one of my beadlocks and I can't get the inner bead to break. I tried a hilift and it didn't break the bead, am I doing it wrong or is there a trick I don't know of? The tire is off the outer bead since the ring is removed.

Some beads are just stubborn as hell. The highlift should work as long as you get the foot as close to the edge of the rim as possible, and have a solid surface to jack against.

You can also try running over the edge of the tire with another vehicle.

And you probably dont want to hear this, but many times its easier to break a bead with a couple pounds of air in the tire as it helps the tire from caving in. Kind of a pain since you already removed the outer ring.

....Or take it to a tire shop. With a hydraulic breaker it would take about 2 seconds.
