Clutch question?

Is the master cylinder in side the housing? How hard is that to replace?

The master cylinder is on the engine side of the firewall, right atop the clutch pedal.

The slave cylinder may be in one of two places:

1987-1993 (BA-10/5 and AX-15,) it is combined with the throwout bearing into a single unit. You have to remove the transmission to replace it.

1994-2001 (AX-15 and NV3550,) it is a longish cylinder inside the bellhousing on the driver's side, and may be removed without removing the transmission. It moves the TO bearing by means of a fork and lever action.

What makes you think you have a problem?

clutch presure bleeds off over time. siting at alight it wants to disingage unless I pump it every few seconds.

Could be master, could be slave, could be the line itself getting old and expanding under pressure.

However, the cluch system isn't really designed to hold pressure - if it were, there would be more "hardline" in use. You could be just holding the pedal in too long for it to like...
