Well guys I own a completely stock 99 XJ. Everything is great on it. Only have gone through a radiator, and a few thermostats -.- Now, when I turn the wheel, there is a clanking sound. Almost as if your pushing a bike with a popped chain and the chain is hitting off the ground. Also, while the wheel is comming back to you after the turn, it skips as if it is in 4wd. I'm out of ideas. I'm thinking bearing or something...it'd deffinitly not in 4 wheel drive though.

Inspect the front axle u-joints. Your main clue is the steering wheel wiggle on tight slow speed turns.
