June photo assignment...Macro

Point and shoot fun. Was bored at work and I only keep my small Canon. Funny thing is it makes for a pretty good macro shooter.

Bee on the KW

KW shifter, complete with hand scum in the cracks. :D

Rules are...

They have to be shot in the Month of the assignment. (I'll let you slide, they are close and you didn't know)

Rule no 2. Don't take the exif data out of the pic. If I can't see when the shot was taken, I will delete them

Oh and I guess the pic should have something to do with the assignment title. :D

Smugmug might strip EXIF...

Fair enough. I trust ya though. That is a cool shot.

On a side note...

D70 at 800 ISO? I'm guessing you use something to clean a little noise up? There is no way my D80 would get down to 800 ISO that clean. What do you use and what is the process to get rid of noise? I know it can be done I just have never figured out how.

Noise shows up mostly in the shadows, so I use a combination of contrast adjustment and 'burn' tool in photoshop. I used to do the same thing in the darkroom in high school :D

Just a side note, the Spider was real, just isn't anymore. Casted in metal by my dad and his dental tech skills.

I thought it was just burnt :D

Mine's no DSLR, just a nicer point and shoot. Fuji S7000. The super-macro mode lets you focus as close as 1 cm.

Here's a few more with some elements of previous assignments...
