Problem: If the alt gets soaked, voltage jumps to 19v and battery gets overcharged. happens if i splash threw a puddle two fast.
The problem will stick around for roughly 10 minutes after the splash of water. then it will go away.

Possibles: Bad alt. but this is the second (used) alt this has happened too.
Bad ground?
Bad battery?

Notes: Battery is leaking acid now. i belive its cracked underneath, possibly due to overcharge?

The problem is getting the alternator soaked.

The fix is A) stop driving through puddles too fast, or at all; B) relocate the alternator higher, there are numerous threads on here that cover moving the alternator.

You need to replace the battery and then test the alternator.
