this was discussed at the last walker valley meeting, we found this on craig's list, please write or e mail the governor, our money was transferred into the general fund and is gonna be used for state parks instead. roger

The legislature has redirected NOVA funding that helps keep O.R.V parks open to the State Parks Dept. These funds were intended to be used for O.R.V. areas. This is our money! The impact of this will reduce maintained areas, education and enforcement in O.R.V. parks. Which means you will lose your place to play. It is not to late to turn this around. Write to governor Gregoire tell her to VETO this portion of the budget. Again it's your money that if not used for the O.R.V community should be refunded.

Dear Governor Gregoire:
As you know, the NOVA account consists of monies from off-road vehicle license tab fees and funds raised when off-road vehicle users waived their right to a fuel-tax refund. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts were told that the money raised through these funds would go to wards developing and managing recreational opportunities for users of back-country trails and non-highway roads.
I believe this shifting of dollars from the NOVA account is unfairly being placed into the general fund. The funds raised by off-road vehicle fees which were specifically set aside for recreational projects will now be used for other unrelated purposes in the operating budget. This is an irresponsible budget shell game. Furthermore, these funds are protected by the Washington State Constitution, Pursuant to Article II, Section 40 these monies must be used for their intended purpose or refunded. The State Supreme court has repeatedly reaffirmed this requirement. I ask that you veto this portion of the budget.
