I have this lovely clunk in the passenger side of the front axle. I think it might be the U-joint just because it looks to be cracked around the pressed in sleeve. I was wondering if there is any way to definitely know that a U-joint is shot before i go through the headach of pressing them out. the jeep drives and steers fine, just nasty clunk.

Thanks,

When is the clunk, going around corners? That is usually a sign of bad u-joints.
The way you can really tell if a u-joint is bad is by grabbing the stub and inner shaft in each hand, and trying to twist them back and forth. If there is any play in them, they are bad.
