Your best bet will be Craigslist and Auto Trader. For the price, you will probably find one with lot's of miles, but then again you might get lucky and find a heck of deal.
The last time I searched for a 97+ they were in mid $4k range and up.

Just got a 1998 98k mile 4X4 base model auto for $3500 on cragslist. Keep your eye out.
