How do I remove the center console-98 XJ?

Hey guys Ive got most of the interior ripped out of my Jeep and got to the center console. Took out all the screws and got the E-brake threw its slot but how do I get the shifter knob off to get the whole console to come out. Thats the only thing holding the console in now.

Can you unscrew the knob or something to get it off so I can pull the rest of the console off?

Thanks guys, Soon as I figure this out Im going out to the garage and pulling the carpet, washing it, and laying some Peel and Seal and rubberized undercoating.

The shift knob just pulls straight up put in gear first don't hit yourself in face

On an automatic too? So it's just pressed on?

Yea, I gave myself a decent fat lip removing my shift knob for the first time. Makes you feel stupid for a while.
