Fuel Tank Baffles

Since I am cutting out on a right turn on a 1/2 tank, Im assuming my baffles inside the tank are bad. Is the whole tank bad?

I've oned 2 jeeps that would cut out anywhere under 1/4 tank on hard turns to the left.

i've only looking in an xj tank once and i didn't see any baffles, but i didn't look really hard either. make sure your fuel pump is seated correctly. i had a heep once that was the case, it would cut out at about 3/8 of a tank.

The fuel tank have a sort of baffle where the fuel pump pickup fits. It is easy to replace the pump and not position the pickup properly. This happened to me once and my XJ would stumble on hard turns to the right when the fuel level is below 1/4 tank. Unless the bottom of the fuel pickup which doubles as the strainer (plastic) is bad.
