90 4.o no start

Just picked up a 1990 xj that doesn't run. It has new motor, sending unit, distributor, plugs, wires, etc. everything is new underhood basically but still now running. Before I got it everyone said its prob just a cps, I looked and its new. I checked power at the coil and no juice. Where should I start????

Does it crank? Assuming it does, does it have power to the latch relay? The first plan needs to be to trace current from the battery to the coil. Do you have a multimeter to trace the current? $3-$5 at Harbor freight or maybe $10 from local sources. Check all ground connections including from battery to body and engine to body. Is this a transplanted motor that never ran?

Yes it turns over and yes I have a meter. Hate doing these things but gotta be done
