NEw Seat Old Mount

I have a 1994 XJ. Drivers seat broke in half. I bought a Seat out of a 1998. I was told that the mounts are different but the later model seat would bolt on to the older base with no problems. Know that I have them together the bolt holes are no where close to being the same. Am I missing something? Could I get some steal and make an adapter plate?

Yes, you can make an adapter, thats what I did to get some Grand seats in my 94. Some angle iron and a welder makes a nice strong adapter.
