cut ft fenders

want to cut my ft fenders and reuse my stock flares. is this possible ?.
do i still cut right along the flare. any who has done this pix would be nice.

there is an excellent write-up by 53Guy or someone, its in a downloadable PDF format.
Its a great mod, a bit of a pain in the ass if ya snap the bolts off the brackets.. lots of drilling and new hardware!
