Aux fan motor replacement?

The aux fan motor burned up in my rig (91 MJ, 4.0 engine). I have a replacement electric motor, but am having big problems removing the fan blade. I have removed the retaining clip and the plate underneath it, but the blade won't budge from the old motor shaft. Any tips on getting it off w/o destroying it? Thanks

It's a press fit. Plastic blade on metal shaft, right? Heat up the blade in the shaft area with a hair dryer and it will push off.

Duh - never thought of that. I do have a heat gun, and will give it a go. Many thanks winterbeater. :clap:

i know its a little late now but i got my fan brand new on ebay with s shaped blades for 20 bucks mounting was um... uncoventional

I'm using two 1999+ XJ 10-blade OEM fans, and have a new motor, working great, so I'll keep the same setup. Some aftermarket stuff is okay, but I like the OEM fans.
