got ahold of an xj tranny, it's an auto, how do I know if it's an AW4 or did they put other auto's into jeep. are there markings or serial numbers, the tag on the top is gone so can't tell

just a stamped number

gonna put it in my friends jeep, his tranny has slipped and messup up since i've known him

This is the AW-4 with the ID tag on the side. You should post of pic of what you dragged home for proper ID.

has the marking on a green label, ainsi company AW something or another and the model # shows as 30-40LE
