ax15, int. plate wont come off gear case...

the intermediate plate wont come off the gear case. all the snap rings from the input shaft bearings are off, it comes off the gear case about a 1/4" then stops... service manual says it slides right off...?

ya, third gear went out and somethings wrong with 2nds synchros i think, im just tryin to pull the gear case off so i can see everything thats jacked up so i can order parts.

anybody know why the int. case wont come off?
