hey so ive been noticing that if you want to change your gears in a d30, you need to change your carrier to a low ratio carrier. is this true or can you get away with out it?

That will depend on the ratio,the carrier break is 3.55 and down & 3.73 and up.

Then youll need a new carrier to go any deeper on your ratio.
