Does my 35 have a cross-pin bolt?

I understand it differs from year to year, does my eighty-eight non-C-clip have one? I think I wanna check and change mine, for reassurance.

I'm not sure if its a bolt or a rollpin. Why would you want to change it? Its not like they spontaneously break.

Hallo. Dana's 35 with C-clips do have a little bolt. Sometimes flat after years of beating by the axels.
Older Dana's 35 without C-clips have roll pins.

Yes, that's exactly what happens. Occurred to me twice, causing the carrier to spit out the cross-pin and make a blissful mess.

With the pin, there isn't really much you can do?

and it's a 12 sided 1/4 inch head, if you were wondering, or if you accidentally leave yours at home and need one in a junkyard and have to go to Lowes to get one.

That little bolt is easy to break when trying to remove it resulting in a whole new problem been there done that :thumbup:

Thats pretty nasty looking! I guess maybe they do spontaneously break.

The bolt I pulled out of my 93ZJ a few months ago looked perfect after 185k miles. The spiders were demolished, but the bolt and crosspin looked fine.
