I have a 275/70/16 on my jeep and i wanted to know what that tire size is in numeric? Is that a 31" or what? I see in the magazines they have some in xxx/xx/xx and some in just the inches what does it matter?

The tires are street tires and i wanna put a beefy deep offroad tread on.

Thanks.

275mm is 10.827" wide.

70% of 10.827 is ~7.579"

7.579, doubled, plus your 16" wheel is 31.158"

So your 275/75/16 is essentially a 31x10.50.

<Edit> Wim beat me to it, but I don't know where he got that 808mm... :dunno:

Hallo. When I look at my famous Good Year list.
31"x 10,5 on a rimsize 7.0-9.0. 8.5 best
31"x 11,5 8.0-10.0. 9.0 best :spin1:

I do have my 31" x 10,5 x 15 Muds on 7.5 rims for 4 years now.

Haha. It's coming from a list of Good-Year.
32"= 800 mm and 31"=775 mm. :cheers:

Well hell, that's cheating! :D

Besides, a 275 goodyear won't be the exact same as a 275 dunlop, bfg, whatever...

As for your 8" rim, most everybody around here still run eight inchers in our 12.50 wide tires.
