i have a 96 XJ sport...recently when its cold it runs ok...kinda sounds like its under a load...but when the block warms up it runs poorly, the electric fan dsnt turn on, the radiator is cool...the temp guage reads 260 and the radiator isnt even warm enough to make my hand burn...um...any insight in possible causes would be nice =)

Put a new thermostat in and flush your lines and block. Sounds like the Therm is stuck closed...

the thermostat was fine i took it out and boiled it and it opend at about boiling...um i have around 120-125lbs of pressure on all pistons and none on #2...

Likely head gasket, possible warped head.

hows the coolant level, any signs of leakage external or internal?
