8.25 limited slip

How do I tell if I have one? And do I just need to pour some additive in to get it going if I have one?

Jack up the axle. Spin one wheel if the other side turns in the same direction you have limited a limited slip dif. If it turn in the opposite direction it is open.
The additive is usually only added when you put new gear oil in.
