Rear hatch wont open

Is this a simple fix ? any ideas how to get it open to fix it ?

it the bear claw is probably gummed up. crawl in from the front and spay some WD40 in the latch area. then work the mechanism.

I had the same problem. Take off the plastic on the inside of the hatch so you can get access to the latch. What happened with mine is that the little clasp that holds the threaded rod attached to the latch was not tight enough and the rod would just slip through when you tried to open it.

Just tighten the clasp and use a couple zip ties and voila, opens like a charm.
