axle gear ratio question

while searching craigslist I have run across someone selling an xj dana 44 rear axle, says the gear ratio is 3.54, if i swap in a front dana 30 with 3.55 gears will they be compatable, I know its not much I just want to be sure. Right now im running 3.07s 30/8.25 and 35's.

yes it will be fine just don't try with 3.07's and 3.55 thats a no go.

it might not be worth it to swap a new dana 30 in. unless u have a 00-01, then u might as well swap to a hp30. but if u already have the hp30 n ur gettin an xj44 u should save up for a gear swap n get it all done at once....that is assuming since ur running a 44 ur gunna go to a larger tire size

if u have the 29 spline then i say save the money and regear to 456. d44 usually go for 300 plus another 100-150 for the front thats close to 500. save another 500 and get them regeared.
