Important Stimulus Payment Info

This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment.
This is a very exciting new program that will explain it using the Question
and Answer format:
Question: What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
Answer: It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Question: Where will the government get this money?
Answer: From taxpayers.
Question: So the government is giving me back my own money?
Answer: Only a smidgen.
Question: What is the purpose of this payment?
Answer: The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a
high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Question: But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
Answer: Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending
your stimulus check wisely:
- If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China .
- If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
- If you purchase a computer it will go to India .
- If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and
Guatemala (unless you buy organic).
- If you buy a car it will go to Japan .
- If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan
And none of it will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America . You can keep the money in
America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spend it
on prostitutes, beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only
businesses still in the US .

You make it sound like all organic produce is domestic. Not true. Dole organic fruits come from six different countries. Guess what? Not one of those countries is the USA.
Columbia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
Similar to "renewable" vs. "sustainable" energy, "Organic" does not mean environmentally friendly. For example, Stonyfield Farm organic yogurt (nationally available) must transport the organic milk powder they use 9,000 miles (from New Zealand), before it becomes yougurt. By the time it gets to the shelf in my grocery store, it's done nearly 11,000 miles of global traveling. Sure, the end product may be a little better for me (debatable), but how much damage was done to the earth (and by extension me) by all of those miles traveled? Personally, I'd rather eat a little pesticide (usually harmless when ingested by mammals) than breath all that exhaust gas (not harmless).
