ignition switch question (swap)

I know that this question is regarding a grand cherokee, but with all of your knowledge I am hoping that you all will be able to help me. I am needing to know if a 1996 ZJ grand cherokee ignition switch will work in a WJ 1999 grand. The info. I have recieved in the past from this site has been very helpful, and I hope someone can help me. I am on a time crunch.

I am not thinking so, my friend had a WJ and we tried to scavenge a few ZJ parts over to it with no avail.
