my buddy has a d44/9inch combo he is selling, has anybody try to flip a 231? Or would I be better off just swapping in a dana 300? Thanks

oiling might be an issue with it flipped.....the pickup will then point up

i searched and didn't find anything, but then i googled it and found one, i might have to go with the dana 300

I am going to flip the front half of a 231 to use as my doubler, but if you want to use one as a tcase.......BAD IDEA.

on second thought, finding a waggy front will prolly be the easiest

That's still a low pinion though. See if you can find a Ford high-pinion D44 out of a mid-1970s F-150. That's the way to go, if you can find one.ttocsnekia said:

Another consideration is your exhaust. You're going to have to do some retooling from the header back if you want to swap to passenger side drop.

given the choice I would get the Dana 300 in there. way better case and twin sticking hells ya
