shackle mount bolt size

So when I was putting on my BB about two weeks ago I realized my bolts were shot- somehow the passenger side bolt siezed to the metal sleeve in the upper part of the shackle and actually pulled right through the mount.

I band-aided it because I had to. But I don't have time or a ride to go get the bolts if the old ones are out and I've lost the measurement.

Anyone know it off hand.

Also any good ideas for bracing the shackle mounts? I'm thinking of welding a box up to be go on there but if anyone has had this problem I'd like to hear about your experiences.

They are metric,14mm.
 
Well the leaf springs are 2.5" wide so I would try to keep the "shank" as close as possible to that without going over.You can always cut the threads back.
