Here are some pics of our run into Shasta Lake and then up to Bully Hill, Dalamar and the copper mines.
It apparently doesn't like the name of the Lake in Redding Ca.

The Lake is so low the train tunnels are coming through the water.

The water is really low.

Good time of year for that run. I grew up in what is now called S h a s t a Lake City. It gets nasty hot in the summer... 110 to 120 and dusty too. We used to bus the cross country team to the West side of the Dam and take off on 10 mile runs. It's sad to see the lake level so low but that is what it was built for: supply water to the central valley farmers. I don't remember any real 4x4 trails in that area but I wouldn't really want to be out there in a 2wd.

Beautiful area. when i drive Portland to LA, my favorite part is S-h-a-s-t-a lake!

i grew up in siskiyou county. Etna to be exact. camped at that lake a few times in my day. welcom to the forum audio222.
