Steel bumper/frame re-enforcement

Hey all, I was wondering...

When you change over from the stock junker bumper to a more beefy steel one, do you guys re-enforce the frame around where the bumper mounts to?

I'm just curious, because I can't imagine that the bumpers were meant for a lot of tension on them in a situation where you might need to be pulled out.

Better aftermaket bumpers come with some type of engineered reinforcement
for your XJ in the form of additional bracketry & additional mounting points.

or you can go to most other companies.

Most companies, if you are buying Winch bumpers, will include some form of unibody tie ins. If not, like if you are buying a winch bumper and they are like heavy duty, blah blah blah, we know what we are talking about, and show pics of just the standard 3 bolt locations, I wouldn't really trust that they know what they are talking about.

this site is good for alot u want to know, for the front bumper scroll down to 1999 Articles

What I don't understand is, I read the conversion from front coil springs to leaf springs. He said hes running a 7'' with short arms, and no steering ugrades. He was saying that it handled like crap and that these were way beyond what they were designed for. Duh, and he didn't want to bother with all of that geometry stuff. You don't need to go to leaf springs to go higher, All he had to do was slap some long arms or Y-links on there, Many people before him have done it, and he can get the geometry from them if he doens't want to buy. He also needs to do a Highsteer on that thing, no wonder why it handles like crap, that looks like crap.
