89 xj leaking frost plug

ok guys i got a 89 xj 4.0 and the front plug on the back of the head is leaking... is it possible to change it with out removing the head?

I can't recall the freeze plug your talking about, but I doubt it. I do recall that there is not a lot of space between the back of the head, and the firewall. maybe if you loosened some mounts, and supported the motor with a jack you could get some extra room.
