Not really "fab tools", but "tools" none-the-less.

I'm going to be setting the gears in my new axles. I need a dial indicator and a dial-type inch/pound torque wrench.

I'm looking at THIS torque wrench. Does anybody know if CDI is a decent brand? It says it's a Snap-On company

What's a decent brand for the dial indicator?

Have any of you guys ordered from ToolSource.com? Are there any other sites you could recommend for these types of items?

Any other tips or advice?

Thanks,
Billy

Billy,

Don't buy that torque wrench that is listed in your post. For that much money you could buy a nice Matco or Snap-on which will be much better quality. I would look around for a beam style torque wrench if you are just a one time or casual user.

For reference, here is the one I own and use at work. Snap-on for $259.00

For the dial indicator, just be sure to get one with a magnetic base. Mac tools has a nice high bling digital gauge dial indicator for around $110. No need to spend that much though as good dial type indicators can be found for fairly cheap.

MAC tools digital dial indicator set, I own this one too:

I bought two of my torque wrenches off of ebay and managed to get snap on for a good price. The dial torque wrenches with the telltale are great for setting up differentials.
For the dial indicator just about anything should work. At work we use dial indicators out of MSC. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/GSDRVSM?PACACHE=000000080599608 The $30 to $50 ones that come with a mag stand will be good enough for anything on a jeep.
