Try a local tranny shop. I have seen rebuild kits on eBay as well. A bearings-n-brass kit was about $180 when I did mine. A master rebuild kit has a bunch of the small parts and might include snap rings as well..

These guys seem awfully expensive.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AX15...kit-AX-15_W0QQitemZ200229421049QQcmdZViewItem This is basically the kit I bought locally for $180. It omits one of the needle roller bearings, which hardly ever needs replaced anyway. The 5th gear synchro changed around 1990. A decent tranny shop can figure out which kit you need based on the serial number.

the bottom link of the list there seems to be the best for the price and they just sound like a better company then the others

the ebay one kinda makes me worry as do most things like that from ebay

and the top on seems like theretrying to squeez every extra penny out of you that you can by like not includeing syncros with their rebuild kits lol

so how about any good books or websites on the ax-15 so if i get my self stuck i'll have something to reference does anyone know of any of them?

The FSM has a really good section that walks you through the tear down and rebuild. I highly recommend having a bearing press handy. I managed with a bearing seperator, a big hammer, and a gear puller that I modified a few times to extend the arms to about 18 inches long. A bearing press would have made things a heck of a lot easier.

i have a bering press ad gear pullers and all that stuff but i don't have a bearing seporator any more i lent it out never got it back is it absolutly nessisary or will i be fine with a bearing press
