I took in a load of wheels before - but it was too long ago to matter. Scrap metal, outside of CRV cans, is a "commodity" and is subject to daily fluctuations. If you want a better idea, weigh one wheel on a bathroom scale then call your local scrapper and ask for a price. That should get you a more useful estimate.

for referance.... 4 months ago i could get $.75/lbs for clean aluminum scrap (im a commercial glazer, tons of alum scrap)... however a couple weeks back someone from my company reported having a hard time getting $.25/lbs!!
moral of the story, shop around. it may be worth going to downtown if you have a lot. the more you have, the better price you will get.
