i am about to build my iron scorpion winch bumper. i know they recommend the long mount plates but i opted out because i think i have a better idea.
i know most after market winch bumpers use long style mounting plates because the xj frame is so weak. i am planning on building TMR style front frame plates and i want to make them so the run all the way to the front bumper mounting holes.
a setup like this would eliminate the need for 8 bolts or w/e on either side correct? the 6 bolts in the factory location should be strong enough if i strengthen the area right?
the winch i will be mounting is an xrc 8 if it matters.
