I've got two 231 Tcases. one with lower miles, the other with less time in 4x. which do y'all think I should use? logic tells me less miles, just wondering s'mothers opinions.

I'd say less time in 4x4.
When the case is in 2wd, the chain isn't under load.
Anyway, if one blows you still got the other!

X2 The "wear issue" is the FWD drive chain. It stretches and gets loose. Go with the case that spent it's life in 2wd.

I vote install the one with less 4x4 time.....

Thanx guys for your responses. I actually ended up installing the one with less miles, not cuz I thought it would be better, but because I'm pressed for time and had to get the engine and tranny assembly in tonight. As j99xh said, I'm keepin the other around for if and when I need it.
